ANANTA FAQ: answers to the most common questions

ANANTA comes out free on January 15, 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5, iOS and Android (fact in the registry). Below are short answers to common questions, checked on October 28, 2026. Release and price

When does ANANTA come out?

On January 15, 2027, worldwide and on every announced platform at once; NetEase set the date at Gamescom on August 25, 2026 (fact in the registry; ANANTA release date).

What time does ANANTA unlock?

NetEase hasn’t announced a time (fact in the registry). Store listings carry placeholders that disagree: 10:00 UTC on the PlayStation Store and 08:00 UTC on the App Store (release time by time zone).

Is ANANTA free?

Yes, officially, on every platform (fact in the registry), and the PlayStation Store lists no paid editions or pre-order bonuses (fact in the registry). NetEase plans to earn from cosmetics (is ANANTA free to play).

How do I pre-register?

For free on the official site, with a pre-order in the App Store or pre-registration on Google Play; Steam and the PlayStation Store offer only a wishlist (pre-registration guide).

Can I play ANANTA before launch?

No. NetEase hasn’t announced an open or global beta or a pre-download date (fact in the registry), and developer Tian Yu told GAME Watch that past tests were confidential (ANANTA beta tests).

Who makes ANANTA?

Naked Rain, a NetEase studio in Hangzhou and Montreal, develops it, and NetEase Games publishes it (fact in the registry; who makes ANANTA).

Platforms and PC

Which platforms is ANANTA on?

PC, PlayStation 5, iOS and Android, officially, with Steam and NetEase’s own client on PC (fact in the registry; ANANTA platforms).

Is ANANTA on Xbox?

No Xbox version has been announced (fact in the registry), and NetEase hasn’t ruled one out either (open question).

Is ANANTA on PS4 or Nintendo Switch?

No. In September 2023 the team said a PS4 version wasn’t in development (debunked in the registry), and Nintendo Switch 2 isn’t on NetEase’s platform list.

What are the PC system requirements?

Steam still says TBD (fact in the registry). The official TapTap page names a GTX 1060 6 GB with 16 GB of RAM as the minimum and an RTX 3080 with 32 GB as recommended (fact in the registry; full lists).

Does ANANTA support DLSS and ray tracing?

Yes, on PC: NetEase announced DLSS 4.5 in August 2026, and the game supports ray tracing (fact in the registry; ANANTA gets DLSS 4.5).

Can I play ANANTA on Mac, Linux or Steam Deck?

Not officially. Steam lists Windows only, Valve hasn’t rated the game for Steam Deck (fact in the registry), and the global App Store version isn’t offered on Mac (Mac, Linux and Steam Deck).

Which phones can run ANANTA?

NetEase hasn’t published a list of supported phones. The App Store asks for iOS or iPadOS 15.0 or later (fact in the registry), and Google Play gives no requirements (ANANTA on iPhone and Android).

How big is the ANANTA download?

The full size hasn’t been announced. The App Store lists a 1.3 GB initial download, and the official TapTap page asks for 40 GB minimum and 100 GB recommended on PC (fact in the registry).

Characters and story

What is ANANTA about?

You play the new captain of the ACD, a task force against supernatural Chaos (fact in the registry). The ACD goes under after the Captain’s first day, and the Captain also seeks a missing father (fact in the registry; story and world explained).

Can you play as a female Captain?

Yes, from launch, according to the ANANTA team: Tian Yu told GAME Watch, and Link and Rain told Pocket Tactics (fact in the registry; female Captain in ANANTA).

Can you customize your character’s looks?

Partly: NetEase told AUTOMATON that basic options for looks and physique are planned (fact in the registry). A choice of name hasn’t been announced (gender and looks).

How many playable characters does ANANTA have?

The official site presents six: the Captain, Shi Ye, Taffy, Richie, Wei Yinglong and Seymour (fact in the registry; all ANANTA characters).

Will new characters be added?

Yes, with free story updates and without gacha, producer Ash Qi told GamesRadar (fact in the registry; new and upcoming characters).

Where does ANANTA take place?

On two big maps: Nova City and Chongxiao, the Captain’s home, which contains the city of Lingyun (fact in the registry). NetEase says the cities are inspired by Shanghai, Hangzhou and Tokyo (fact in the registry; the ANANTA map).

How big is the ANANTA map?

NetEase hasn’t published a size. Producer Ash Qi told TechRadar that Chongxiao is noticeably larger than Nova City (fact in the registry); comparisons with Manhattan and Neverness to Everness are rumors.

Gameplay

Is ANANTA an anime GTA?

The press calls it that; NetEase calls it an urban open-world RPG. Like GTA it has a modern city with cars and police, but you lead a task force against Chaos, swing between skyscrapers and fight with martial arts (the anime GTA comparison).

How do you get around in ANANTA?

By swinging, running along walls and driving, with no stamina limits (fact in the registry). NetEase lists cars, motorcycles, helicopters, yachts, the subway and hang gliders (fact in the registry), and you fly by helicopter or wingsuit, not unaided, according to AUTOMATON (fact in the registry).

How does combat work?

It draws on martial arts such as Shaolin kung fu, according to Game Informer, and everyday objects like golf clubs become weapons (combat). GamesRadar+ reports that every playable character also has telekinesis (fact in the registry).

Can you switch between characters?

Yes. You recruit agents for the ACD and switch between them, each with their own story, job and way of fighting (switching characters; gameplay explained).

Can you customize cars and homes?

Yes, producer Ash told Famitsu: cars can be bought, upgraded and repainted, even as itasha (fact in the registry), and every character has a home to renovate (fact in the registry).

How long is ANANTA?

At least 100 hours, according to the publishing and marketing leads interviewed by Insider Gaming (fact in the registry). They also plan at least seven years of support (support plans).

What is there to do besides the story?

Street racing, fight clubs, arcades and mahjong, ring toss and tea roasting at the Longqi Village fair, and more than 100 residents with their own stories to recruit (fact in the registry; what to do in ANANTA).

Online and co-op

Does ANANTA have multiplayer?

Yes, a multiplayer mode is in development, NetEase told AUTOMATON (fact in the registry). Producer Ash told IGN Japan it is co-op with friends, not an MMO, and you can also play solo (fact in the registry; multiplayer explained).

Does ANANTA have cross-play or shared progress?

Not announced. Steam’s cross-platform multiplayer tag is a store category, not an announcement (fact in the registry; list of unknowns).

Do you need an internet connection?

On PS5, yes: the PlayStation Store says online play is required (fact in the registry). Whether PlayStation Plus is needed, and whether PC and phones need a connection, NetEase hasn’t said (ANANTA on PS5).

How many players can play together?

Not announced. The PlayStation Store lists one network player (fact in the registry), though its Japanese page briefly showed 24 in August 2026.

Money and rewards

Does ANANTA have gacha?

Not for characters: officially, every playable character is unlocked by playing, Famitsu reported (fact in the registry). The App Store and Google Play do declare paid random items that NetEase hasn’t explained (fact in the registry).

What can you buy in ANANTA?

Cosmetics such as outfits, vehicles and homes, including limited event outfits, according to Famitsu and Denfaminicogamer (fact in the registry). Prices haven’t been announced.

Will ANANTA have a battle pass?

Not announced: producer Ash told IGN Japan that monetization details would be decided later (open question).

What are the pre-registration rewards?

10,000 Golvent at 15 million, 10 Clothing Dye at 20 million, a Profile Card at 25 million, 100 Jillion Vouchers at 30 million and a Character Outfit at 35 million (fact in the registry). The counter showed 25,866,081 on October 28, 2026 (fact in the registry; pre-registration rewards).

Safety and official channels

Which ANANTA accounts are official?

The ones anantagame.com links to: @Ananta_EN on X, @Ananta_Game on YouTube, discord.gg/ananta, @ananta_en on TikTok, @ananta.global on Instagram and r/AnantaOfficial (fact in the registry; official ANANTA channels).

Are ANANTA beta keys and APK files real?

No. NetEase hasn’t announced a public beta (fact in the registry), and outside China the official site sends Android players only to Google Play, with no APK of its own (how to spot fakes).

Will NetEase ask me to pay to claim a prize?

No. The official giveaway rules say winners are contacted only from @Ananta_EN and aren’t asked for a payment, PayPal or bank details (fact in the registry).

Ratings and languages

What is ANANTA’s age rating?

There is no ESRB or PEGI rating yet (fact in the registry). The US App Store says 13+, Google Play says Teen, and Steam shows automatic ratings of 16 in Germany and 18 in Brazil and Indonesia (fact in the registry; ANANTA age rating).

Which languages is ANANTA in?

Steam lists 16 interface languages, Russian among them as text only (fact in the registry). Full voice-over is in English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean (fact in the registry).

Is ANANTA coming out in China?

Will ANANTA be available in every country?
