ANANTA platforms: PC, PS5, iOS and Android, and is there an Xbox version?

ANANTA comes out on four platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, iOS and Android. There is no Xbox version on NetEase’s list (fact in the registry), and a PS4 version mentioned in 2023 was dropped a month after the reveal. All four platforms get the game on the same day, January 15, 2027.

Which platforms is ANANTA on?

The August 2026 press release names NetEase’s official PC client, Steam, PlayStation 5 and mobile platforms (fact in the registry). Game pages are already live in four stores:

• Steam: free to play, Windows 10/11 64-bit, processor and graphics card marked TBD. The game can be added to a wishlist.
• PlayStation Store: PS5 only, with a PS5 Pro Enhanced label, power saver support and DualSense vibration and trigger effects. The game can be added to a wishlist.
• App Store: a free pre-order, rated 13+ in the US.
• Google Play: pre-registration, rated Teen in the US.

NetEase’s own PC client is the fifth route, and the company hasn’t said how it will differ from the Steam version. The official site also shows a PlayStation cloud icon next to the platform list; NetEase hasn’t explained it, so we can’t say whether ANANTA will stream through PlayStation Plus at launch.

Is there an Xbox version of ANANTA?

No. Neither the official site nor NetEase’s press releases mention Xbox, though the company hasn’t ruled it out either: Xbox just isn’t on the list. Other NetEase games, such as Once Human, do come out on Xbox, so a later version isn’t impossible, but there has been no statement about one. We track it as an open question.

If NetEase announces an Xbox version, the fact in our registry will get a new label, with the date and the source of the announcement.

What happened to the PS4 version

When Project Mugen was revealed at Gamescom 2023, some coverage listed PS4 among its platforms. On September 22, 2023, Multiplayer.it reported the team’s clarification: a PS4 version was not in development (debunked in the registry). Current platform lists have no PS4, and the PlayStation Store page is for PS5 only.

Nintendo Switch 2 and macOS aren’t on NetEase’s platform list either, and we haven’t found any statement about them.

Does ANANTA have cross-play and shared progress?

The store pages disagree. Steam lists online co-op, cross-platform multiplayer and MMO among the game’s categories, while the PlayStation Store lists one network player (fact in the registry). Store categories aren’t announcements, and producer Ash told IGN Japan that multiplayer is a closed format for friends, not an MMO (fact in the registry).

NetEase hasn’t said whether players on PC, PS5 and phones can play together, or whether one account keeps its progress across platforms. Both questions are in our list of unknowns, and co-op itself has a page in the database.

Do you need to be online?

On PS5, yes: the PlayStation Store page says “Online play required” (fact in the registry). NetEase hasn’t said whether a PlayStation Plus subscription is needed. Steam and the mobile stores carry no such note yet, and NetEase hasn’t addressed offline play there (open question).

Which version to choose

PC is the only version with confirmed NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and ray tracing (DLSS 4.5 in ANANTA), but its requirements are unpublished; what circulates online is covered in ANANTA PC system requirements. The PS5 version carries the Pro label, though NetEase hasn’t said what the PS5 Pro improves (fact in the registry). On phones, the download size and device requirements are unknown.

Our assessment, based on what is known today: if you plan to play with friends, pick the same platform until NetEase explains cross-play. The same goes for progress: nothing confirms that a PC save will follow you to a phone.
