Who’s who and what’s where in Nova City and Chongxiao. Entries are based on official NetEase and Naked Rain materials and link to their primary source; anything unconfirmed carries a label.
The Captain is the main character of ANANTA and the new captain of the ACD, a task force that is falling apart. The hero comes from Chongxiao, arrives in Nova City and has to rebuild the team while becoming famous online. Male and female versions are confirmed for launch.
Shi Ye is the Captain’s childhood friend, full of ideas and gadgets. She is the one to call when something needs to get done; her line on the official site is that she brings the money and you bring the muscle.
Taffy is a courier with long rabbit ears and the ACD’s other agent. She joined the task force hoping for an easy life and ended up delivering strange cargo on her bike. She co-founded the Yeet Squad and dreams of a million followers.
Richie is an NCCA police officer who works with the ACD. She catches criminals on duty and takes side jobs after hours. The official site advises suspects to go along peacefully rather than test her fists.
Nova City is the first city of ANANTA and the place where the story begins: a coastal metropolis with a lively, sometimes chaotic entertainment culture. It was the first map the team built.
Chongxiao is the second big map of ANANTA, revealed at Gamescom 2026, and the Captain’s home. It contains the city of Lingyun and, according to producer Ash Qi, is noticeably larger than Nova City.
Bachong Pagoda is a famous Chongxiao landmark on Weilan Lake. Besides tourists it draws martial arts students hunting for a legendary Lingjing said to be hidden inside, but only sect members are let in.
Downtown is the central district of Nova City and a local favorite, according to the official site. It has a place for every visitor, and the crowds all chase the same big screens, pricey shops and trendy bands.
The ACD (Anti-Chaos Directorate) is the task force the Captain leads. It handles Chaos incidents but is close to collapse, and rebuilding it by recruiting new agents runs through the whole story.
The Black Metal Rhythmists are a gang from the Tokyo Game Show 2025 demo that spreads violence across Nova City, according to GamesRadar’s hands-on report. NetEase doesn’t describe it on the official site.

The Lingjing Supervisory Agency handles Lingjing and Chaos affairs in Chongxiao. It surveys Lingjing, responds to Chaos incidents, runs atypical talent exams and hires staff. Its historic building stands in Mingpu District.
The NCCA is Nova City’s police force. Richie serves in it, and NetEase lists the NCCA officer among the walks of life you can play.
Aerie Bank caters to wealthy clients and big companies in Nova City and is run by Lily Leonas, heir to the Leonas family business. Its in-game page hides a hacked layer that accuses the bank of serving the Leonas family.
Cat Express is a delivery company named among the organizations that give the team missions in the 2025 gameplay trailer. Its logo, a cat on a parcel, appears on the official site.
Fubao Food started as a Chongxiao street-corner shop selling handmade snacks and milk and grew into a national brand of dairy drinks, pastries and sweets.
Reign Construction is the main business of Reign Group, Nova City’s largest conglomerate, and covers everything from building sites to real estate agencies. The official site hints that the group’s past is better left alone.
Arcades, mahjong parlors, gyms and basketball courts come with their own mini-games, and you can bring a favorite character along.
Boating on Weilan Lake is an activity only Chongxiao has, according to producer Ash Qi.
Cafes and restaurants in ANANTA are places to eat out, take selfies over a meal and bring a favorite character along. They include cat and maid cafes.
Delivery rider is one of the jobs you can take. In the TGS 2025 demo Taffy hauled a coffin with a vampire inside and got hired as a gig driver.
Co-op multiplayer in ANANTA is for playing with friends rather than an MMO-style crowd, producer Ash Qi says: you explore together and can take on harder missions as a group. Details are still to come.
Fame and influence drive ANANTA’s premise: “Go Viral. Save the World.” The Captain grows a following through missions, crises and small moments like selfies with citizens, and fame unlocks resources and influencer perks.
Combat in ANANTA draws on martial arts and action films: dodges, blocks and counters, enemy weapons you can grab, and street props like golf clubs and trash bins. Every character can also pull objects with telekinesis.
Outfits and customization cover dressing characters, painting cars and furnishing homes. NetEase plans to sell cosmetics such as limited event outfits, and the pre-registration rewards already include clothing dye and a car paint set.
