How we verify

Every claim on this site has a credibility label and at least one source you can open. This page explains where the information comes from, how we choose a label and what makes it change.

Where the information comes from

We sort every source into one of four kinds:

  • NetEase and Naked Rain. The game’s website anantagame.com, NetEase announcements, official trailers and social accounts, support pages, financial reports.
  • Stores and platforms. Steam, PlayStation Store, mobile app stores and rating boards: ESRB, PEGI, USK, CERO, NPPA.
  • Media. Interviews, hands-on previews and reports that name their sources.
  • Community. Wikis, fan sites and forums. We use them to find leads, and a claim found there stays a rumor or a theory until something stronger confirms it.

How a claim gets its label

There are seven labels. The number next to each shows how many of the 69 claims in the fact registry carry it now.

  • Official43confirmed by NetEase Games, Naked Rain or an official platform
  • Seen in footage1visible in official footage, but the developers haven’t said anything about it
  • Reliable source14reported by a journalist or a source with a verifiable track record
  • Rumor4not officially confirmed
  • Fan theory0a conclusion the community drew from the available materials
  • Debunked2the information turned out to be wrong
  • Outdated5it was true but has changed, for example an earlier release date

Rules we follow

  1. “Official” means NetEase Games, Naked Rain or a platform said it directly. A journalist retelling the developers’ words gets “reliable source” until we find the original.
  2. Something visible in official footage but never described by the developers is “seen in footage”, even when it looks obvious.
  3. A report without a named source, a screenshot of unknown origin or a single post on social media is a rumor.
  4. When a new source appears, the label changes and the old one stays in the claim’s history. Every change goes to the public changelog.
  5. Each source has a publication date, and each claim shows when we last checked it.
  6. The English and Russian versions are written from the same sources. If the original is in another language, we say so next to the link.

What we don’t publish

  • Leaked materials, and names or details known only from leaks.
  • Screenshots and files of unknown origin presented as fact.
  • Invented numbers: file size, mission count, map size or system requirements before NetEase publishes them.
  • Images other than official NetEase Games materials.

If you find a mistake

Send a correction with a link to a source: an editor checks every suggestion. What nobody knows yet is collected on the open questions page, and every change to the site is in the changelog.
