ANANTA tier list: playable characters before launch

Who you can play in ANANTA and what each character does, from NetEase’s materials and the Gamescom 2026 demos. Tiers start after the January 15, 2027 launch, once we have played the full game.

Ratings start after launch

ANANTA launches on January 15, 2027. Nobody outside NetEase has played the full game, so any ranking today would be a guess. Below is the roster known so far, with what each character does; we will place them in tiers once we have played and compared them.

Characters in ANANTA aren’t sold through gacha: you unlock them through the story (fact in the registry). A tier list here won’t tell you whom to spend money on. It will show who is strongest in combat and most useful in the city.

NetEase has shown six playable characters so far and promises more with free story updates (fact in the registry). Profiles of each are in our guide to ANANTA characters.

How we rate

After launch we will play every character before placing them. What counts:

  • Combat: damage, crowd control and survival in story fights and harder co-op missions.
  • Team play: what a character adds when you switch to them or play together with friends.
  • The city: getting around and the jobs that open activities, such as deliveries or police work.
  • Ease of use: how hard the character is to play well.

Tiers go from S+ to C, and inside each tier characters are split by combat role. Every list shows the game version it was checked against, and each move gets a changelog entry with the reason. We don’t copy rankings from other sites.
