ANANTA release date: January 15, 2027, on PC, PS5 and mobile

ANANTA comes out on January 15, 2027. NetEase Games and the developer Naked Rain announced the date at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25, 2026, together with a new trailer (fact in the registry). The launch is worldwide, and NetEase gave one date for every announced platform: PC through Steam and NetEase’s own client, PlayStation 5, iOS and Android.

ANANTA is free to play, so on January 15 there is nothing to buy: you download it and play. Our release page counts down to the date, and the timeline lists every dated event since the 2023 reveal.

What time ANANTA unlocks

NetEase hasn’t announced a time (fact in the registry). The store listings carry placeholder values, and they disagree: the PlayStation Store page says 10:00 UTC, the App Store says 08:00 UTC. Fields like these are often filled in before a publisher sets the real schedule, so we don’t treat either one as the answer. The question stays open in our list of unknowns.

If the PlayStation Store time holds, the game opens at 2:00 a.m. in Los Angeles, 1:00 p.m. in Moscow and 7:00 p.m. in Tokyo; the full list is in ANANTA release time by time zone.

NetEase also hasn’t named a pre-download date for any platform or published the download size. The US App Store lists the app at about 1.3 GB, but mobile games of this kind usually fetch most of their data after the first launch.

Which platforms get ANANTA on January 15?

• PC: Steam and NetEase’s own client. Steam lists Windows 10/11 64-bit; the processor and graphics card are still TBD.
• PlayStation 5: the PlayStation Store, where the game carries a PS5 Pro Enhanced label and requires an internet connection.
• iOS: the App Store, where you can pre-order the free app.
• Android: Google Play, where pre-registration is open.

Xbox isn’t on the list. NetEase hasn’t ruled it out, but it hasn’t announced it either. The full breakdown, including the PS4 version that was dropped in 2023, is in ANANTA platforms and the Xbox question.

Can you play before January 15?

No public test has been announced (fact in the registry). The only reported official test was an offline one for Chinese players in Hangzhou in January 2025. A closed PC test in China in January 2026 is known only from a fan wiki, and NetEase hasn’t confirmed it. For the details, see every ANANTA test so far.

What launches on day one

NetEase says the story unfolds across two big maps: Nova City, where the Captain arrives, and Chongxiao, the Captain’s home, with the city of Lingyun inside it (fact in the registry). The official site presents six playable characters, and more are promised in free story updates.

In September 2026 producer Ash Qi told TechRadar that the team was still building Lingyun. How much of Chongxiao will be open on January 15 is one of our open questions. Both maps are covered in Nova City, Chongxiao and Lingyun explained.

When and where was the release date announced?

NetEase revealed the game as Project Mugen at Gamescom 2023, renamed it ANANTA in November 2024 and set the date at Gamescom 2026. The whole story is in from Project Mugen to ANANTA.

For three years before that there was no date at all. Some coverage expected a 2025 launch, but NetEase never named that year: in December 2024 Breakflip doubted 2025 because a technical test was only starting, and Pocket Tactics bet on 2026 (debunked in the registry).

How do you pre-register?

Pre-registration opened on the official site in December 2024 and in the stores in August 2026. On October 27, 2026 the official counter showed 25,834,915 sign-ups (fact in the registry), enough for three of the five milestone rewards. The US PlayStation Store page still shows “ESRB Rating Pending” (fact in the registry). Mobile stores in the US already rate the game 13+ on the App Store and Teen on Google Play.
