ANANTA on PS5 and PS5 Pro: Pro Enhanced, online play and what the store page says

ANANTA comes out on PS5 on January 15, 2027 as a free download, and the PlayStation Store marks it PS5 Pro Enhanced (fact in the registry). What the Pro version improves, NetEase hasn’t said. Most details below come from the game’s pages on PlayStation.com and in the PlayStation Store, checked on October 28, 2026.

What PS5 Pro Enhanced means for ANANTA

Sony’s PS5 Pro page describes such games as enhanced for the console and notes that the enhanced features vary by game. So the label tells you that ANANTA uses the Pro’s extra power in some way, but not how.

• Known: the label itself, shown in the US, UK, German and Japanese stores.
• Not announced: resolution, frame rate, graphics modes or ray tracing on the PS5 Pro.
• On PC, NetEase has confirmed NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and ray tracing (DLSS 4.5 in ANANTA), but it hasn’t announced anything similar for PS5 or PS5 Pro.

Do you need PlayStation Plus or an internet connection?

You need a connection: the store page says “Online play required” (fact in the registry). Whether you also need a PlayStation Plus membership, NetEase hasn’t said, and the store page doesn’t mention PS Plus at all. Both points are in our list of unknowns.

The page lists one network player (fact in the registry). On August 26, 2026 the Japanese listing showed 24 online players; Game*Spark noticed that it had been changed to one by the next morning and said the reason was unknown. In September NetEase told AUTOMATON that a multiplayer mode is in development; what is known about it is in ANANTA multiplayer explained.

DualSense and power saver

The store page lists DualSense vibration and trigger effects for the PS5 version. How combat and driving use them, NetEase hasn’t described.

The page also says power saver is supported. Sony’s support page explains the setting: in supported PS5 games, performance can scale back to reduce power consumption. You switch it on in the system settings under power saver for games; VR mode is unavailable while it is active, and other gameplay features may be limited.

Price, editions and pre-orders

ANANTA is free on PS5 (fact in the registry). PlayStation.com says you can download it and start playing for free from January 15, 2027, and adds that cosmetic items for character customization and personalization are sold as optional in-game purchases. There is nothing to pre-order: the store has no paid editions and no pre-order bonuses, only a wishlist button (fact in the registry).

The US page still shows “ESRB Rating Pending” (fact in the registry). The mobile stores already rate the game 13+ on the App Store and Teen on Google Play.

Is ANANTA on PS4 or PS Plus cloud streaming?

There is no PS4 version. One was mentioned after the 2023 reveal, and a month later the team clarified that it wasn’t in development (debunked in the registry). The store lists only a PS5 version.

Cloud streaming hasn’t been announced. On PS5, Sony includes cloud streaming only in PlayStation Plus Premium, for selected games, and ANANTA’s store page doesn’t mention it. The official site shows a PlayStation cloud icon next to the platform list, but NetEase hasn’t explained it.

How big is the PS5 download?

Unknown: the store page gives no file size, and NetEase hasn’t announced a pre-download date (open question). The only sizes on an official listing are for PC: 40 GB minimum and 100 GB recommended on the Chinese TapTap page (fact in the registry). If the PlayStation Store time holds, the game unlocks at 10:00 UTC; local times are in ANANTA release time by time zone.

What is still unknown

• What the PS5 Pro version improves, and whether there are graphics modes.
• Whether online play needs PlayStation Plus.
• The download size and a pre-download date.
• Whether PS5 players can play with PC and mobile players or carry progress between platforms (open question).
• The final ESRB rating.
