ANANTA on iPhone and Android: requirements, download size and store ratings

ANANTA comes out on iPhone, iPad and Android phones on January 15, 2027, the same day as on PC and PS5 (fact in the registry). The App Store asks for iOS or iPadOS 15.0 or later and lists a 1.3 GB initial download (fact in the registry). The Google Play listing gives no device requirements at all.

Which phones can run ANANTA?

NetEase hasn’t published a list of supported phones or minimum chips for either system (open question). The App Store names only the iOS version and Game Center support; Google Play gives neither an Android version nor a device list. We haven’t found an official device list anywhere, so a minimum phone named on other sites has no NetEase source behind it.

Tian Yu of the development team told GAME Watch at Gamescom 2026 that the mobile version is being optimized to come close to the PC experience. For scale, the one PC configuration on an official listing asks for an RTX 3080 and 32 GB of RAM (fact in the registry).

How big is the download?

The 1.3 GB in the App Store is the initial download. NetEase hasn’t announced the full size for any platform, and the only official figure is 100 GB for PC on the Chinese TapTap page (open question). Our assessment: expect the phone version to fetch much more data after the first launch, as large mobile games usually do, so keep free space and Wi-Fi ready for January 15.

Age ratings and random paid items

• App Store (US): 13+, for frequent cartoon or fantasy violence and infrequent mild simulated gambling, horror, suggestive themes and contests. The listing also says the app contains loot boxes.
• Google Play (US): Teen, for mild violence, suggestive themes and language, with the notes Users Interact and In-Game Purchases (Includes Random Items).

Both stores flag paid random items (fact in the registry). Characters aren’t sold through gacha, so the label refers to something else, and NetEase hasn’t said what. The money side is covered in is ANANTA free to play.

Pre-order on the App Store, pre-registration on Google Play

On iPhone and iPad you pre-order the free app, and Apple says a pre-ordered app downloads automatically on release day if automatic downloads are turned on. On Android you pre-register on Google Play, which sends a notification when the game becomes available. Can you play with a controller on your phone?

Not announced (open question). Neither the App Store nor the Google Play listing mentions controllers. Steam lists DualShock, DualSense and partial controller support for the PC version (fact in the registry), and the PS5 version uses DualSense features, but NetEase hasn’t said anything about gamepads on phones.

How to tell the official listing

On the App Store the seller is NetEase Interactive Entertainment Pte. Ltd. On Google Play the developer is Exptional Global, registered as EXPTIONAL PTE. LTD. in Singapore, with a support address at global.netease.com. The same Google Play account publishes NetEase games such as Once Human and Where Winds Meet (fact in the registry).

What is still unknown

• Minimum iPhone and Android models, and the Android version.
• The full download size.
• Whether phones need a permanent internet connection (open question).
• Controller support on phones.
• Whether progress carries over between phone, PC and PS5 (open question).
