In China ANANTA is called 无限大 (wúxiàndà, “infinity”), and it launches there on January 15, 2027, the same day as in the rest of the world. The China App Store listing expects the game on that date (fact in the registry), and the title of the Chinese official site, ananta.163.com, reads “27年1月15日全球上线”: global launch on January 15, 2027.

NetEase announced one worldwide date for every platform at Gamescom on August 25, 2026 (fact in the registry). The China App Store, TapTap and the Chinese official site give the same date.

What is ANANTA called in Chinese?

无限大 means “infinity”. When the game was revealed in August 2023, its Chinese name was 代号:无限大, “Codename: Infinity”, while the English one was Project Mugen; the English name became ANANTA in November 2024 (fact in the registry). The maps have Chinese names as well: in the China App Store description Nova City is 新启 and Chongxiao is 重霄.

Does ANANTA have a license in China?

Yes. In December 2024 China’s National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) approved ANANTA in its monthly batch of 135 games, 122 domestic and 13 imported, as TechNode and 17173 reported (fact in the registry). According to 17173, the approval covers the PC client, mobile and PS5. Without this approval, known as a 版号, a game can’t launch commercially in mainland China.

Where is ANANTA listed in China?

  • The official site, ananta.163.com, with the launch date in its title and the six playable characters.
  • The China App Store: 无限大, “expected on January 15, 2027, free”, rated 13+. The developer is shown as 网易移动游戏 (NetEase Mobile Games) and the seller as Hangzhou NetEase Leihuo Technology. Leihuo (雷火) is the Chinese name of Thunder Fire, the NetEase group Naked Rain belongs to (fact in the registry).
  • TapTap, the Chinese game store and community: an official page for Android, iOS and PC, supplied by the same Hangzhou company.

The US App Store listing is a different app, sold by NetEase Interactive Entertainment of Singapore (fact in the registry). Apple’s data for the Chinese listing carries the same placeholder time as the US one, 08:00 UTC, which would be 4:00 p.m. in Beijing; NetEase hasn’t announced a time (fact in the registry). The App Store description also points Chinese players to official accounts on Bilibili, Douyin and Xiaohongshu, the WeChat account 雷火无限大 and a QQ group.

ANANTA on TapTap: reservations, rating and PC specs

On October 28, 2026 the TapTap page showed 3.85 million reservations and 3.87 million followers, a rating of 8.3 from 9,478 reviews and 8th place on the store’s reservations chart. These are TapTap’s own counts; NetEase’s global counter stood at more than 25.8 million pre-registrations on October 27 (fact in the registry).

The page also lists PC requirements in two tiers (fact in the registry):

  • Minimum: Windows 10 64-bit, Core i5-9400F or Ryzen 7 3700X, 16 GB of RAM, GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB, 40 GB of storage, DirectX 11.
  • Recommended: Windows 10 64-bit, Core i7-12700K or Ryzen 9 9900X, 32 GB of RAM, GeForce RTX 3080, 100 GB of storage, DirectX 11.

We previously reported a single configuration: the summary at the top of the page shows only the recommended tier, while both tiers are in its device requirements section. They match the spec sheet that has circulated since January 2026. Steam still lists the processor and graphics card as TBD (fact in the registry); everything else on PC is in ANANTA PC system requirements.

Were there tests in China?

Two have been reported, and neither was a public beta. On December 5, 2024 Unity China wrote that NetEase had announced an offline technical test starting January 3, 2025, and Breakflip reported that it would be held in Hangzhou for Chinese players (fact in the registry). A fan wiki also describes a closed PC test for Chinese accounts from January 16 to 20, 2026, which NetEase hasn’t confirmed (rumor in the registry).

Tian Yu of the development team told GAME Watch that ANANTA has had confidential tests but no global beta (fact in the registry). Every test is covered in every ANANTA test so far.

Are the Chinese and global versions the same?

Not confirmed. On September 15, 2026 the Chinese tech site ITHome (IT之家) wrote that the domestic and international versions are completely unified (国内外版本完全统一), but it didn’t say where that came from. We haven’t found the statement in NetEase’s press releases or on its official sites.

What the store pages do show: the Chinese and global listings are separate apps from different NetEase companies, with the same release date and the same 13+ App Store rating. Our assessment: separate listings say nothing about content. Whether the two versions will share updates, events or accounts, NetEase hasn’t said.

Does ANANTA have Chinese voice-over?

Yes. Steam lists full audio in four languages: English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Korean (fact in the registry). Traditional Chinese is there for the interface and subtitles only, and the China App Store lists Chinese and English as the app’s languages.
