ANANTA age rating: ESRB pending, 13+ on iPhone, Teen on Android

ANANTA doesn’t have a final ESRB rating yet: the US PlayStation Store lists it as “ESRB Rating Pending” (fact in the registry). The stores that already rate the game put it between 13+ and 18, depending on the country (fact in the registry). ANANTA launches free on January 15, 2027, on PC, PS5, iPhone and Android (fact in the registry).

ANANTA age ratings by store

As of October 28, 2026, the store pages show:

• PlayStation Store (US): ESRB Rating Pending, with the standard note that online interactions aren’t rated by the ESRB. The UK and German store pages show no rating yet.
• App Store (US): 13+. Frequent cartoon or fantasy violence and guns or other weapons; infrequent mature or suggestive themes, horror or fear themes, simulated gambling and contests. The listing also says the app contains loot boxes, messaging and chat, and user-generated content (fact in the registry).
• Google Play (US): Teen, the US category for ages 13 and up, for mild violence, suggestive themes and language, with the notes Users Interact and In-Game Purchases (Includes Random Items).
• Steam: automatically generated ratings for three countries. USK 16 in Germany for fantasy violence, ClassInd 18 in Brazil for fantasy violence and IGRS 18 in Indonesia for violence and online interaction.

We found no ANANTA entry in the ESRB or PEGI databases on October 28, 2026 (fact in the registry). Apple’s data feed still shows the earlier 12+ rating; the store page uses Apple’s newer age scale, which has 13+ in place of 12+. Our assessment: the Steam numbers come from an automatic questionnaire and may change once national boards rate the game, so for now the App Store list is the most detailed description of the content.

What is in ANANTA, according to NetEase

NetEase’s August 2026 press release describes martial arts fights in which everyday objects become weapons, and Game Informer writes that combat draws on real martial arts such as Shaolin kung fu (martial arts combat). The trailers also show guns: in the 2025 gameplay video the Captain fires at gang trucks from a moving car (2:11).

The enemies include Chaos, supernatural trouble that NetEase’s 2024 press release lists from spooky paranormal phenomena to toilets racing through traffic. The 2025 gameplay trailer shows a giant winged creature roaring over a jammed street (2:42). Our assessment: monsters like this are the likely reason for the horror note. The other theme is online fame: the player is an influencer in a city run by algorithms and online culture, and missions grow a following (fame and influence). The 2024 announce trailer has a mahjong table with banknotes flying (0:38), but NetEase hasn’t said what the simulated gambling note refers to.

Chat and playing with other people

Expect contact with other players. Google Play marks Users Interact, the App Store lists messaging and chat and user-generated content, and the PS5 version requires an internet connection (fact in the registry). NetEase says a multiplayer mode is in development (fact in the registry), and producer Ash described multiplayer as play with friends, not an MMO (fact in the registry). Paid random items

The game is free, and characters aren’t sold through gacha (fact in the registry). NetEase plans to sell cosmetics such as limited event outfits (fact in the registry). Both mobile stores still declare paid random items: a loot box note on the App Store and In-Game Purchases (Includes Random Items) on Google Play (fact in the registry). Which items are random, NetEase hasn’t explained (open question). The money side is in is ANANTA free to play, and the mobile listings in ANANTA on iPhone and Android.

Is ANANTA OK for kids?

Our assessment: going by the store labels, ANANTA is made for players 13 and up, not for younger children. What parents usually ask about is all there in some form: cartoon violence that includes guns, mild language and suggestive themes, chat with other players and paid random items. Before launch, it makes sense to turn on purchase approval in the family settings of the phone or console the child will use and to check which limits on contact with other players that platform offers.

As of October 28, 2026, the US PlayStation Store still shows ESRB Rating Pending, and ANANTA comes out on January 15, 2027.
