The song in the ANANTA Launch Date Trailer is 夢中人 by Faye Wong, her Cantonese cover of The Cranberries’ “Dreams” that became famous through the 1994 film Chungking Express (fact in the registry). NetEase showed the trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25, 2026, when it set the launch for January 15, 2027 (fact in the registry).
NetEase itself hasn’t credited the track. The trailer’s YouTube description lists pre-registration links and social channels but no music, and the Gamescom 2026 press release doesn’t mention it either. The song was named by Inven Global on the day of the show and by the Chinese site 17173 two days later.
Where the song plays in the launch trailer
The two reports place it differently. 17173 writes that the song comes in at the end of the trailer, over the city shots of Chongxiao, the new second map. Inven Global calls it the trailer’s background music and notes that Shanghai’s Oriental Pearl Tower appears near the end. We can’t settle the difference from the video description, and NetEase hasn’t commented.
The trailer’s final scenes include tea hills, a fairground ride, the date card and the Captain taking a selfie at night by a TV tower with spheres. Every scene, with timecodes, is in our Launch Date Trailer breakdown.
What is 夢中人?
“Dreams” was The Cranberries’ debut single, released in October 1992. Faye Wong recorded a Cantonese version, 夢中人, for her 1994 album Random Thoughts, and the same year it featured prominently in Chungking Express, in which she starred. Wikipedia gives its English title as “Dream Lover”; Wong also recorded a Mandarin version called “Elude” (掙脫).
What music is in the other ANANTA trailers?
NetEase names the songs in some of the video descriptions on the official ANANTA channel (fact in the registry):
- Announce trailer, December 5, 2024: the description credits “SEVENTH HEAVEN” by milet. NetEase’s press release for the trailer warned that its soundtrack contains copyrighted Sony Music.
- Gameplay trailer, September 23, 2025: the description credits “A Little Bit of Sunshine (Sunshine)” by OneRepublic and “Class Historian” by BRONCHO. The Tokyo Game Show press release carried the same note about Sony Music.
- Launch Date Trailer, August 25, 2026: no credit in the description; the song is known only from press reports.
- The teaser with the new name, the ten-minute gameplay video and the Project Mugen trailer have no music credits.
The Sony Music notes were addressed to the press: NetEase asked sites that wanted to embed the videos to contact its PR team to get them whitelisted. Our assessment: anyone uploading clips of these two trailers should expect copyright claims on the music.
Does ANANTA have a soundtrack, a composer or in-game radio?
Not announced as of October 28, 2026. NetEase hasn’t named a composer, released a soundtrack album or said whether cars in ANANTA have radio stations, and the Steam page lists no soundtrack add-on.
Music does show up in the game’s city life. Producer Ash Qi lists clubs, live music and dancing among the everyday things you can do, and NetEase’s 2024 press release mentions partying at the Sonic Boom Club; see nightlife and live shows. What plays in those clubs, NetEase hasn’t said.
On October 28, 2026 the Launch Date Trailer is still the newest video on the official ANANTA channel. The game launches on January 15, 2027 on PC, PS5, iOS and Android.
