ANANTA comes out free on PC, PS5, iOS and Android on the same day, January 15, 2027 (fact in the registry), so where to play it depends on the hardware you have. PC is the only version with published requirements and confirmed DLSS 4.5, the PS5 version needs an internet connection and carries a PS5 Pro label, and iPhones and iPads need iOS 15 or later.
NetEase hasn’t announced cross-play or cross-save (fact in the registry), so nothing yet confirms that you can play with friends on other platforms or move your progress from one version to another. Below, every version side by side, from the store pages as we checked them on October 29, 2026. The details are in our articles on PC requirements, PS5 and PS5 Pro, iPhone and Android and all platforms and Xbox.
ANANTA versions at a glance
- PC: free on Steam and on NetEase’s own PC client, Windows only. Official specs from the Chinese TapTap page: a GTX 1060 and 16 GB of RAM at minimum, an RTX 3080 and 32 GB recommended, 40 to 100 GB of storage. DLSS 4.5 and ray tracing; Steam lists DualShock and DualSense support.
- PS5: free on the PlayStation Store, marked PS5 Pro Enhanced, no PS4 version. Online play required, DualSense vibration and trigger effects, no download size yet.
- iPhone and iPad: a free pre-order on the App Store, iOS or iPadOS 15.0 or later, a 1.3 GB first download, no minimum models named.
- Android: pre-registration on Google Play, with no Android version or device list published.
- Xbox, Mac, Linux and Steam Deck: no official version (fact in the registry; Mac, Linux and Steam Deck).
PC: Steam or NetEase’s own client
On Steam, ANANTA is listed as free to play for Windows 10/11 64-bit, and both requirement lists still mark the processor and graphics card as TBD (fact in the registry). The August 2026 press release also names Ananta’s official PC client as a separate route. As of October 29 the official site links Steam, the PlayStation Store, the App Store and Google Play, but no download for NetEase’s client, and NetEase hasn’t said how the two PC versions will differ.
The only full specs come from the official ANANTA page on the Chinese TapTap store (fact in the registry):
- Minimum: Windows 10 64-bit, Core i5-9400F or Ryzen 7 3700X, 16 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB, 40 GB of storage, DirectX 11.
- Recommended: Windows 10 64-bit, Core i7-12700K or Ryzen 9 9900X, 32 GB RAM, GeForce RTX 3080, 100 GB of storage, DirectX 11.
Every card is on our system requirements page, and what the processor pairs and storage figures mean is in ANANTA PC system requirements. NetEase hasn’t said whether the global Steam release will use the same requirements.
The PC version supports NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and ray tracing (fact in the registry). By NVIDIA’s rules, DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution works on any GeForce RTX card and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation needs an RTX 50 card, while the GTX 1060 from the minimum tier gets no DLSS at all. NetEase hasn’t mentioned AMD FSR or Intel XeSS. Card by card, see ANANTA and DLSS 4.5.
Steam lists DualShock, DualSense and partial controller support (fact in the registry). There is no Mac or Linux build, and Valve hasn’t rated the game for Steam Deck (fact in the registry); the Steam Deck report was still empty on October 29. More in can you play ANANTA on Mac, Linux or Steam Deck.
PS5: Pro Enhanced, online only
The PlayStation Store lists ANANTA for PS5 only and marks it PS5 Pro Enhanced (fact in the registry). NetEase hasn’t said what the Pro version improves, and no resolution, frame rate or graphics modes have been announced for either console. DLSS is an NVIDIA technology for PCs and doesn’t apply here. There is no PS4 version: the team ruled it out in 2023 (debunked in the registry).
The store page says online play is required (fact in the registry) and lists one network player (fact in the registry). Whether you also need PlayStation Plus, NetEase hasn’t said. The page lists DualSense vibration and trigger effects and power saver support. There are no paid editions to pre-order, only a wishlist (fact in the registry), and no download size yet. The listing was unchanged on October 29; the rest is in ANANTA on PS5 and PS5 Pro.
iPhone, iPad and Android
On the App Store, ANANTA is a free pre-order for iOS or iPadOS 15.0 or later, with a 1.3 GB first download and Game Center support (fact in the registry). The page names no minimum iPhone or iPad model. Google Play takes pre-registrations and lists neither an Android version nor supported devices, so there is no official minimum phone for either system (open question).
Tian Yu of the development team told GAME Watch at Gamescom 2026 that PC and mobile differ in specs, but the team is optimizing the mobile version to give the best experience in line with the PC version (fact in the registry). The 1.3 GB is only the first download: the game fetches more data after the first launch, and the only official sizes, 40 to 100 GB, are for PC.
Neither store mentions controllers, and NetEase hasn’t said whether phones support them (open question). The global App Store version isn’t offered on Apple silicon Macs either (fact in the registry). Ratings, paid random items and pre-order steps are in ANANTA on iPhone and Android.
Cross-play, cross-save and online play
Cross-play and cross-save haven’t been announced, and only the PS5 version is confirmed to need a connection. Steam lists Cross-Platform Multiplayer among the game’s categories, but that is a store tag, not an announcement (fact in the registry), and Dengeki Online’s October 2026 summary also lists cross-play and cross-save as unannounced. The August 2026 press release says Naked Rain specializes in cross-platform development; that describes how the studio works, not a feature of the game.
Multiplayer itself is still being built. NetEase told AUTOMATON in September 2026 that a multiplayer mode is in development (fact in the registry), and producer Ash describes co-op with friends rather than an MMO (fact in the registry). Steam and the mobile stores carry no note about an internet connection, and NetEase hasn’t said whether PC and phones need one (open question). More in ANANTA multiplayer explained.
Regions: one launch day, separate versions for China and Taiwan
NetEase’s press release says ANANTA launches worldwide on January 15, 2027, and Tian Yu confirmed to GAME Watch that every platform gets it at the same time. In August 2026 NetEase counted pre-registrations from 110 countries and regions, but it hasn’t published a country list (open question).
- Mainland China: the game is called 无限大 and has its own App Store listing from another NetEase company, dated January 15, 2027 like the global one (fact in the registry). The official TapTap page covers Android, iOS and PC. Details in ANANTA in China.
- Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau: the mobile version 無限大 comes from Heart Core Entertainment, and the official site links it (fact in the registry).
- Other regions: the global listings on Steam, the PlayStation Store, the App Store and Google Play. Whether a given country’s store carries them, NetEase hasn’t said.
Whether the Chinese and global versions share accounts, servers or events, NetEase hasn’t said either.
Which one should you pick?
Our assessment, based on what is known on October 29, 2026: the game is free everywhere, so the safest choice is a device you already own. By situation:
- You have a gaming PC with at least a GTX 1060 and 16 GB of RAM: pick PC. It is the only version with published specs, DLSS 4.5 and ray tracing, and an RTX card adds DLSS on top. Below the TapTap minimum, PS5 or a phone is the safer bet.
- You play on a console: pick PS5, and plan for an internet connection. Whether PlayStation Plus is needed is still open, and a PS5 Pro gets enhancements NetEase hasn’t described.
- You want to play on the go: pick a phone, but wait for a device list before counting on an older model. The only published minimum is iOS 15, there is nothing for Android, and the full download will be far bigger than 1.3 GB.
- You prefer a controller: PS5 is built around the DualSense, Steam lists only partial controller support on PC, and on phones controllers aren’t mentioned at all.
- You play with friends: pick the platform they use. Until NetEase announces cross-play, a mixed group may not be able to meet.
- You want to switch devices later: don’t count on carrying progress over, since cross-save hasn’t been announced.
- You use a Mac, Linux or a Steam Deck: there is no official route yet, and Valve hasn’t rated the game for the Deck.
What NetEase hasn’t said
- Whether PC, PS5 and phone players can play together, and whether progress carries over between platforms.
- Whether online play on PS5 needs PlayStation Plus, and whether PC and phones need a permanent connection.
- What the PS5 Pro version improves, and whether either console gets graphics modes.
- Minimum iPhone, iPad and Android models, and the Android version.
- The full download size on PS5 and phones; only TapTap gives sizes for PC.
- Whether the Steam requirements will match the TapTap tiers.
- When NetEase’s own PC client becomes available, and how it differs from the Steam version.
- Whether phones support controllers.
- Which languages the console and mobile versions get: Steam lists 16 interface languages, while the global App Store page lists English and Simplified Chinese for now.
- A country list, and what time the game unlocks on January 15 (fact in the registry).
ANANTA launches on January 15, 2027 on PC, PS5, iOS and Android (fact in the registry).
