Music in ANANTA: car radio, concerts and the soundtrack

ANANTA has a radio: Dengeki Online played it on Taffy’s hammer bike in the 2025 demo. NetEase hasn’t named a composer or announced a soundtrack, but it has released one single, in 2023. Concerts in the trailers and on the official site, the Black Metal Crew’s rock show and what is still unknown.

ANANTA has a radio, at least on Taffy’s hammer bike: Dengeki Online played it in the Tokyo Game Show 2025 demo (fact in the registry). NetEase hasn’t announced radio stations, a composer or a soundtrack album. It has released one single, in 2023, and concerts appear in the trailers and on the official site.

Which songs play in the trailers, from milet to Faye Wong’s 夢中人, is covered in our article on the trailer songs.

Is there a radio in ANANTA?

Yes, on at least one vehicle. Dengeki Online’s report from Tokyo Game Show 2025, published on September 25, 2025, says that Taffy can turn her hammer into a small bike and play the radio while riding it. The radio had several tuning options, and the writer enjoyed simply driving around the city with a favorite song on (fact in the registry).

None of the other demo reports we checked mentions a radio: the Tokyo Game Show 2025 reports by GamesRadar+, Famitsu, AUTOMATON and IGN Japan, and the Gamescom 2026 reports by Famitsu, GamesRadar+, AUTOMATON and Denfaminicogamer. Whether cars have a radio, how many stations there are and what plays on them, NetEase hasn’t said. Taffy’s hammer, a weapon that doubles as a ride, is on her page; every other vehicle is in ANANTA vehicles.

A radio while driving also appears in a list of leaked features that a fan Telegram channel posted on January 5, 2025, crediting a source it calls Uncle Maxwell. The same source’s previous post listed five-star and four-star characters. Our assessment: star ratings for characters don’t fit NetEase’s statement that characters aren’t sold through gacha (fact in the registry), so we file the leak as a rumor; the radio itself rests on the Dengeki report.

Are there concerts in ANANTA?

Concerts are promised and shown in the trailers, but none of the demo reports we read describes going to one. Producer Ash Qi told TechRadar on September 7, 2026 that the cities have anything you’d want to do in a modern city, including catching a live music show or dancing the night away. The Steam page invites you to take in the nightlife under the neon glow.

The official site has two music scenes in its Veluxity Zone gallery. In one, a club crowd stands around an octagon cage under stage lights; the site’s Chinese caption for the picture is 舞台演出, a stage show. The other is captioned 音乐现场, live music: an open-air concert with fire jets and ParaBoar banners on both sides of the stage. ParaBoar is the gang that, according to the site, runs Veluxity. Dengeki Online’s summary of October 11, 2026 also notes live venues in the videos and on the site, and says it is unclear whether players will be able to use all of these places.

The trailers add a few more shots:

  • 2024 announce trailer (0:24): a band plays to a packed hall under blue spotlights.
  • 2025 gameplay trailer (0:51): a crowd raises fists at a concert with fire jets, a DJ works the decks, and a man in a yellow jacket dances alone in the street.
  • Project Mugen trailer from 2023 (0:42): a crowd waves orange glowsticks at a concert.

Everything about clubs and shows is collected on the nightlife and live shows page. Which venues will be open at launch, NetEase hasn’t listed: its Gamescom 2026 press release names cinemas, mahjong parlors, arcades, cat cafés, gyms, restaurants and clothing stores, and no club or concert hall.

In the Project Mugen days the official site had a character known for concerts. Pocket Tactics retells the removed profile of Mechanika, a worker who brings machines to life and was known for throwing massive concerts with them. Her profile was taken down in September 2025 (outdated in the registry).

What is the Sonic Boom Club?

The Sonic Boom Club is a party venue from NetEase’s press release of December 5, 2024, the first example in its list of things to do in the cities, next to a library and a gallery. NetEase hasn’t shown the club since, and the 2026 press release doesn’t mention it. Which city it is in is unknown too; the little that is known is on the Sonic Boom Club page.

Why does the Black Metal Crew want a concert?

Its boss wants to play Nova City. In the ten-minute 2025 gameplay video (0:20), the gang members the subtitles call Black Metal Hammer and Black Metal Rhythmist explain that their boss wants to hold a concert in Nova City because a small stadium can’t handle his rock show; the Captain suggests a beach concert. One fighter carries a drum as a shield (1:04), and the gang’s truck in the finale has a grille of spinning drums (7:27).

The Captain’s bio on the official site jokes about gangs of rock ’n’ roll fanatics breathing down the ACD’s neck. Our assessment: that is most likely the Black Metal Crew, though the site doesn’t name it. How the fight with the gang and its truck plays is in ANANTA bosses and enemies.

Can you play music mini-games in ANANTA?

None have been announced. NetEase’s materials and the demo reports we read mention no rhythm game, karaoke or DJ activity; the mini-games known so far are in What to do in ANANTA.

The PlayStation Store page lists “Singstar Microphone optional”, a compatibility label named after Sony’s karaoke series. NetEase hasn’t said what a microphone does in ANANTA, and no announced feature needs one. Our assessment: the label alone is too little to expect karaoke.

Who composed the ANANTA soundtrack?

NetEase hasn’t named a composer, and there is no soundtrack album: the Steam page lists no add-ons, and the official site doesn’t mention music staff. Its only original music release is a single. The official site’s list of Chinese channels links to an ANANTA artist page on NetEase Cloud Music, and that page holds one release: “Above the World”, credited to 无限大, the game’s Chinese name, and 周梓琦 (Zhou Ziqi), dated August 24, 2023 (fact in the registry).

The song runs 3 minutes 48 seconds, with English lyrics. Its credits on the platform give the music and arrangement to 迪悗, production to Nico+ and the Chinese translation of the lyrics to 徐靖轩. August 24, 2023 is the day NetEase revealed Project Mugen at Gamescom (event in the timeline). Our assessment: the date points to the reveal trailer, but NetEase’s YouTube upload of that trailer credits no music, and we haven’t matched the song to it ourselves. How Project Mugen became ANANTA is in the history of ANANTA.

Are there licensed songs in ANANTA?

In the trailers, yes; in the game, it is unknown. NetEase credits milet’s “SEVENTH HEAVEN” in the 2024 announce trailer and songs by OneRepublic and BRONCHO in the 2025 gameplay trailer (fact in the registry), and the press identified Faye Wong’s 夢中人 in the Launch Date Trailer (fact in the registry). The press releases for the first two videos warned that their soundtracks contain copyrighted Sony Music. Whether licensed songs will play on the radio or in the clubs, NetEase hasn’t said.

What NetEase hasn’t said about music

  • Whether cars have a radio, how many stations there are and whether they have hosts or ads.
  • Who writes the game’s music and whether a soundtrack album will come out.
  • Whether you can visit the Sonic Boom Club or the concerts in the Veluxity Zone.
  • Whether you can play your own music or choose tracks.
  • What the PlayStation Store’s microphone label is for.
  • Whether the Black Metal Crew’s boss gets to hold the concert in the story.

ANANTA launches on January 15, 2027 on PC, PS5, iOS and Android (fact in the registry).
