Who is Lykaia Reign in ANANTA? The NCCA director explained

Lykaia Reign is the Director of the Nova City Crime Agency (NCCA), Nova City’s police, according to the subtitles of NetEase’s 2025 gameplay video (fact in the registry). The fox-eared woman drives the Captain away from the Black Metal Crew and asks the Captain about joining the NCCA. NetEase hasn’t said whether she is playable or who voices her.

She isn’t among the six playable characters on the official site, but she was in the first public demo, and NetEase says the characters from its demos will be in the release. What is known about her is also collected on her database page.

What does Lykaia Reign do in the 2025 gameplay video?

She drives the getaway car for most of the mission. The 2025 gameplay video is one mission split into chapters, and Lykaia is in it from 1:40 to the end:

• 1:40. After a brawl with the Black Metal Crew outside a restaurant, the Captain rides off in a blue convertible driven by Lykaia, a woman with lavender hair, fox ears and a cap. She asks whether things weren’t exciting enough before, and the Captain insists the gang started it.
• 2:11. Gang trucks catch up on the expressway. Lykaia says the gang really has its hooks in them and asks the Captain to help the tires deflate, and the Captain stands up and shoots.
• 4:05. The Captain grabs her and leaps through roadside bushes. Lykaia remarks on the Captain’s strength, just like in the videos: she already knows the newcomer from the internet.
• 4:28 to 5:35. Bikers chase them through an underpass, Lykaia jokes that criminals can’t resist the Captain’s charm (5:00), smashes through a building site and, on a railway line, hands over the wheel as a commuter train rushes at them.
• 5:57. In the chapter called Escalation she complains that the chase never ends and half the city is going to get wrecked.
• 7:27. She asks whether the Captain has ever thought about joining the NCCA; the Captain asks whether the ACD shutting down is such big news. A blow then throws the Captain out of the car in front of the gang’s monster truck.
• 8:55. Lykaia drives back into the fight with the truck.
• 9:43. In the battered convertible she praises the Captain’s work, introduces herself as Lykaia Reign, Director of the Nova City Crime Agency, and calls the Captain Punt Master. Asked whether they are heading to the NCCA, she suggests finding a spot to chat.

Our assessment: Lykaia knows the Captain from viral videos before they meet, which fits NetEase’s premise that the newcomer becomes an internet star after the first day on the job. Each scene is described in our breakdown of the video, and the truck fight is in ANANTA bosses and enemies.

Was Lykaia in the Tokyo Game Show 2025 demo?

Yes. The demo’s story mission was the chase from the video, and both GamesRadar+ and Dengeki Online name her (fact in the registry). GamesRadar+ wrote on September 29, 2025 that the demo picks up when Chenxiu, as the subtitles call the Captain, and their ally Lykaia give chase to the gang. Dengeki Online’s writer calls her ライカ (Raika), practically the lead of the story mode, a cool older-sister type who looks set to become popular.

Is Lykaia Reign playable?

Not confirmed. The official site presents six playable characters, the Captain, Shi Ye, Taffy, Richie, Wei Yinglong and Seymour (fact in the registry), and Lykaia has no page there. At Gamescom 2026 a NetEase representative told AUTOMATON that the characters seen in the two demos will definitely be in the release, and that characters with more professions are coming (fact in the registry).

Our assessment: that promise covers Lykaia, since she was in the Tokyo demo, though appearing in the release doesn’t make her playable. The head of the city police looks more like a story character who hands out work, and the NCCA is already among the organizations the team takes missions from (fact in the registry). Other characters NetEase has shown without calling them playable are in New and upcoming ANANTA characters.

What is the NCCA in ANANTA?

The NCCA is Nova City’s police. The official site uses only the abbreviation; its Chinese text calls the agency 巡卫署, a patrol office, and Richie’s bio mentions the food in the NCCA canteen. The full name, Nova City Crime Agency, appears only in the subtitles of Lykaia’s introduction. NetEase’s description of the 2025 gameplay trailer lists the NCCA, misspelled as NCAA, among the organizations the team takes missions from.

In the 2025 gameplay trailer, the Captain talks with a fox-eared woman who looks like Lykaia in an underground garage marked B1 and NCCA (2:24); she asks whether the Captain really wants to do this, and a stakeout follows. Richie, the playable NCCA officer, works with the ACD; whether she answers to Lykaia in the story, NetEase hasn’t said. More on the police is in Crime and police in ANANTA and on the NCCA page.

Is Lykaia Reign related to Reign Group?

NetEase hasn’t connected them. Reign Group is, in the official site’s words, the largest conglomerate in Nova City, with traces everywhere from large construction sites to real estate agencies on the corner, and the site lists its building arm, Reign Construction, among the forces of the Veluxity Zone. About the group’s past the site says only that the less you know, the better.

Our assessment: a police chief who shares a surname with the city’s most powerful and most secretive company is unlikely to be a coincidence, but the match exists only in English so far. The group is 雷恩集团 in Chinese and レイオングループ in Japanese, and we haven’t seen Lykaia’s surname in NetEase’s Chinese or Japanese materials. Where else does Lykaia appear?

NetEase doesn’t name her anywhere else, but a woman with the same lavender hair and fox ears appears in two more trailers:

• 2025 gameplay trailer: in the NCCA garage (2:24), and in a hot tub on a terrace, watching the sunset over the city (4:30).
• 2024 announce trailer: riding in a convertible at sunset with the Captain at the wheel (0:01), in a blue convertible at night (1:04), stepping in front of a pickup on a neon street (1:44) and holding out a SODA POP can by the water (1:54).

Pocket Tactics, in a character list updated on September 7, 2026, writes that Lykaia used to appear a lot in the Scope section of the official site. The Scope page is still there, styled as an in-world app, but we found no mention of her on it or elsewhere in the site’s text; NetEase hasn’t explained why. Our assessment: the woman in the trailers is Lykaia, since the hair, the ears and the blue convertible all match.

Who voices Lykaia Reign?

NetEase hasn’t named any voice actors for ANANTA, for Lykaia or anyone else (open question). The Steam page lists full voice-over in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Korean (fact in the registry).

What NetEase hasn’t said about Lykaia

• Whether she is playable, and if not, how big her part in the story is.
• Whether she has anything to do with Reign Group.
• Who voices her in each language.
• Why she left the Scope section of the official site.
• What she wants to talk to the Captain about at the end of the mission.
